Short-range vs long-range motion: Not a valid distinction.

Responds to comments by J. T. Petersik (see record 1992-15222-001) on his and G. Mather's article (see record 1990-18848-001) about differences between short-range (SR) and long-range (LR) motion phenomena. The author argues that the SR vs LR distinction is stimulus-based and does not capture the likely case that 2 motion processes may respond to 1 stimulus, while Petersik contends that the 2 motion processes remain a legitimate classification.
