||Meres et bebes pendant la premiere annee: Une etude longitudinale de deux types d'interaction.
Studied interactions between maternal behaviors and infant behaviors in a naturalistic setting. Focus was on testing the specificity hypothesis of maternal scaffolding of infant cognitive development. Human Ss: 30 normal female French adults (mean age 31.5 yrs) (mothers). 30 normal male and female infants (mean age at baseline 5 mo 12 days). At baseline and 3 mo later, the mother-infant dyads were videotaped in their homes during routine activities. The frequencies of maternal and infant behaviors directed at each other and at objects outside the dyad were recorded, and interactions between maternal behaviors and infant behaviors at baseline and 3 mo later were analyzed.
