Word-identification strategies in a picture context: Comparisons between "good" and "poor" readers

(from the chapter) what strategies are used by readers to identify words / how do these strategies develop what is the role of context at this level(from the introduction) [Sprenger-Charolles] reports a study of word-identification strategies, comparing children with reading problems and skilled readers / her procedures allows her to observe the children's use of semantic context compared with their use of lexical forms / concludes that the poor readers lack sufficient lexical and graphemephoneme knowledge, instead developing rather inflexible context-driven strategies for word identification (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2005 APA, all rights reserved)
